Ta-An Li, an ISU student, improved the function of wheelchairs through a class project. He not only won a gold medal at ISU with this project but also collaborated with other departments to create an innovative wheelchair that can help users stand up in a safer and easier way. With his innovation in wheelchairs, he won a bronze medal award at the Taiwan Innotech Expo and obtained an utility model patent for his creation before graduation.

Ta-An Li (left) collaborated with others from diverse fields to develop an innovative wheelchair and obtained a patent, in the hopes that more and more wheelchair users can benefit from it.
