ISU took part in the 2018 Taiwan Innotech Expo, bringing home seven awards, including one platinum award, one gold medal award, one silver medal award, and four bronze medal awards. Moreover, four works were selected by the Ministry of Science and Technology to be displayed at one of the three Expo parks, Innovative Invention. President Chen indicated that he was really delighted to see faculty members and students present remarkable innovative research achievements and that ISU will keep promoting interdisciplinary innovation in order to nurture outstanding talents with problem-solving skills.

ISU won seven awards at the 2018 Taiwan Innotech Expo with a team consisting of Ta-An Lee, Dr. Yong-Han Hong, Dr. Chih-Hsin Hung, Dr. Tai-Lioan Chen, Dr. Yun-Ju Chen, Dr. Jung-Sheng Chiang, Dr. Chun-An Cheng, and Dr. Rong-Ching Wu.
