ISU Students Preserve the Ocean Through Internships in Japan
ISU, with a strong commitment to international initiatives and recognized as one of the few comprehensive universities in Taiwan with a medical college, continues its tradition of active international exchanges. This year, the Department of Medical Science and Biotechnology under the College of Medical Science and Technology forged a significant industry-university internship agreement with Japan’s sole coral reef research institute. This collaboration allows ISU students in the Department of Medical Science and Biotechnology to intern and participate in research on coral reef ecology in Japan. This unique opportunity allows ISU students to enhance their global perspectives during their academic journey while gaining insights into the importance of preserving marine ecosystems.
ISU and Kansai University Collaborate to Host Digitalization and Retail
Development Seminar
ISU boasts a rich international environment, with a diverse population of overseas students from all five continents, creating a campus resembling a miniature United Nations. ISU is actively engaged in international exchanges, making it a preferred choice for collaboration among educational institutions worldwide. An example of this is the partnership with Kansai University in Japan. Together with the Department of Business Administration under the College Management, they organized the “Workshop on Digitalization and Retail Development.” Students and faculty members from Kansai University’s Faculty of Business and Commerce visited ISU, where they engaged in face-to-face discussions and mutual exchanges with students from the master’s degree program of the Department of Business Administration and the IMBA, focusing on the theme of international retail development.
ISU Paves the Way for Students with Abundant Resources, Achieving
Interdisciplinary and International Industry-University Collaboration
With a wealth of interdisciplinary experience in the fields of industry, government, and academia, Dr. Yuan-Kuang Guu, former Deputy County Magistrate of Pingtung County, has taken on the challenging role of President at ISU. Drawing from his past leadership roles at Pingtung University and Pingtung University of Science and Technology, President Guu deeply understands the significance of shaping the distinct characteristics of a university. “Just like the facial features of a person, every university should have its own unique traits to gain recognition from various sectors,” emphasized President Guu, highlighting his educational philosophy of imbuing his university with distinctive features.
