AI Elite Talent Training Base: I-Shou University
Supercomputer Ahead of Schedule
A map of Taiwan has put Taiwan on the global stage! NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang delivered a speech June 5th, 2024 titled “Opening a New Era of Industrial Revolution,” mentioning that AI is the new industrial revolution. During his speech, he showcased a map of Taiwan, garnering international attention. Not only does NVIDIA’s supply chain revolve around Taiwan, but 16 Taiwanese universities also appeared on the map, including I-Shou University. I-Shou University has precisely anticipated future trends and, as early as 2018, launched a ten-year plan called “Cross-Domain Innovation, Competing Globally.” The university’s various faculties have kept up with the times by focusing on the cross-domain integration of smart technology and health medicine, becoming a cradle for future AI elite talent.
ISU Gains Popularity as High-tech Corporations
Settle in Kaohsiung City
Foxconn has partnered with NVIDIA to establish an advanced computing center in Kaohsiung. NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang also announced plans to set up a research and development center in Taiwan. Magistrates and mayors across Taiwan have expressed support, with Kaohsiung City Mayor Chi-Mai Chen stating that the city is “ready.” In recent years, Kaohsiung has transformed from an industrial city into a software haven. Promoted by Taiwan’s government, the Great South Great Development Policy aims to build an S-shaped strip of semiconductors connecting several science parks, including the Southern Taiwan Science Park, the Kaohsiung Science Park, the Ciaotou Science Park, the Kaohsiung Nanzih Technology Industrial Park, and the Kaohsiung Software Technology Park, Siaogang District, and Linyuan District. This initiative is driving the development of the semiconductor industry and cities in southern Taiwan. In addition to NVIDIA, companies like TSMC, IBM, and ASML have also invested in Kaohsiung, making it a global semiconductor hub. The demand for high-tech talent is soaring, and employment opportunities are significantly increasing. ISU, located in Kaohsiung City and highlighted by Jensen Huang, plays a crucial role in this AI technology wave.
