The 35th Anniversary of I-Shou University!

This year marks a milestone in our journey, 35 years of learning, growth, and impact at I-Shou University. Since its founding, ISU has grown from a young private university into a vibrant global campus that welcomes students from more than 40 countries.

Over the years, we’ve built not only classrooms but also communities where students discover their passions, create lifelong friendships, and prepare for careers that shape the future. From pioneering English-taught programs to forging strong industry partnerships, ISU continues to stand for innovation and opportunity.

This month, we invite you to see ISU through the eyes of students and alumni who have generously shared their most cherished moments on campus.

Kokoro from Japan: Finding Peace Under Taiwan’s Skies

For Kokoro, a Japanese student who has spent three years at ISU, her favorite memories aren’t from lecture halls, but from quiet evening walks around campus. The air at night feels fresh, the stars hang overhead, and the track field becomes a place of calm. On stressful days, these walks reminded her to breathe, to look up, and to keep going.

Duc Hieu from Vietnam: A Small Studio, Big Dreams

For second-year student Ivan, ISU is defined by a modest 20-square-meter studio room in the International College. With just a sofa, a backdrop reading “I-Show, Let it Show”, and a few lights, it became the birthplace of countless stories.

Daniel from Vietnam with his Marketing Office: Work, Laughter, and Belonging

For Daniel, ISU’s essence lives in the Marketing Office. At first glance, it looks ordinary; computers, posters, half-finished coffee cups; but within its walls, ideas turn into reality. It’s where interns collaborate, argue, laugh, and eventually create campaigns that tell ISU’s story to the world.

Axela from Indonesia: The Heart of Belonging

Axela looks back and immediately recalls the third-floor library in the International College. It wasn’t just a study spot, it was a refuge. Unlike the chilly classrooms cooled by air conditioners, the library glowed with sunlight pouring through tall glass windows.

Steven from Indonesia: ISU as a Second Home

Not every moment of studying abroad is glamorous. For many international students, the first nights at ISU were filled with homesickness. The Indonesian student recalls how loneliness slowly gave way to friendship, classmates who became study partners, dorm mates who became family, and friends who brought soup and medicine when someone was sick

Looking Back with Pride, Moving Forward with Purpose

As we celebrate this anniversary, we honor our students, faculty, alumni, and partners who make ISU what it is today. Together, we are writing the next chapter, one that is brighter, bolder, and more connected to the world.
