The International Foundation Program (IFP)
The International Foundation Program (IFP) in Taiwan is a one-year (or one-semester) preparatory program for international students without Chinese language proficiency to bridge into a four-year undergraduate degree program. Established by the Ministry of Education to cultivate mid-level talents for high-tech industries, it provides intensive Chinese language courses, aiming for students to pass the TOCFL A2 level within the year. After completing the IFP and graduating from their bachelor’s programs, students are encouraged to stay and work in Taiwan.
