All ISU Engineering and Tech Programs Earn Full Six-Year IEET Accreditation for Global Career Opportunities

The Institute of Engineering Education Taiwan (IEET) recently announced its latest 2026 accreditation results for engineering and technology education. Every engineering and technology-related department at ISU has successfully passed the accreditation, unanimously securing the highest “six-year accreditation” status. This achievement reflects ISU’s overall excellence in educational quality, curriculum design, pedagogical practices, and student learning outcomes. It also confirms that the university’s academic framework is fully aligned with international standards for engineering and technology education, receiving strong professional endorsement.

IEET accreditation is a non-governmental, peer-reviewed professional certification mechanism that emphasizes an outcomes-based approach. Its purpose is to ensure educational quality by verifying the actual competencies and achievements of students. The accreditation focuses on critical core competencies upon graduation, including professional knowledge, practical application, problem-solving skills, communication skills, collaboration, and engineering ethics. For students, the most significant value of IEET accreditation is the international recognition of their degrees. As a formal member of the Washington Accord and the Seoul Accord, IEET ensures that degrees from ISU engineering and technology-related departments are highly recognized in dozens of nations, including the U.S., Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and the U.K. Whether applying for prestigious graduate programs abroad or undergoing evaluation for international professional engineering licenses, graduates receive the same degree recognition as local counterparts, truly achieving the goal of “one degree, worldwide recognition.

Located at the heart of the “Southern Taiwan Silicon Valley” and the S-shaped semiconductor strip in Kaohsiung, ISU plays a pivotal role as a primary talent hub for South Taiwan, closely aligning with the development of key industries such as semiconductors and smart manufacturing. The fact that all engineering and technology departments passed the IEET accreditation with the highest honors not only reaffirms ISU’s academic strength but also boosts industry confidence. Through outcomes-based programs designed to meet market demands, ISU produces graduates who possess “mastery of skills, immediate workplace application, and long-term career resilience.” Top enterprises highly seek after these industry-ready professionals. Looking ahead, ISU will continue to deepen its industry-university links, providing the essential talent needed for industrial upgrades in South Taiwan and the nation’s ongoing technological advancement.

As ISU celebrates its 36th anniversary, the university continues its legacy of aligning with national development and industry trends to cultivate professional talent across all sectors. This commitment is reflected in the “2026 Enterprise’s Favorite University Students” survey conducted by 1111 Job Bank and TUN University Network, in which ISU graduates were ranked the top choice among employers in Southern Taiwan, demonstrating exceptional employability and industry recognition. In the face of the tide of AI technology, ISU proactively launched its AI development strategy in 2018, centering on four core pillars: AI × Education, AI × Industry, AI × Healthcare, and AI × Innovation. The university has systematically built an “X+AI” interdisciplinary curriculum, strengthened industry-university alliances, and integrated real-world industrial and medical scenarios. This ecosystem fosters innovation and entrepreneurship, equipping students with both practical skills and a forward-looking perspective. In terms of institutional performance, ISU was named the “Most Promising Private University” for its capabilities in AI and sustainability in a 2025 survey by Global Views Monthly. Internationally, ISU has maintained its status in the top 8.3% globally for seven consecutive years according to the 2025 Center for World University Rankings (CWUR). Furthermore, the “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list released by Stanford University in 2025 featured multiple ISU faculty members, with research impact spanning medicine, engineering, design, management, and international business, showcasing the university’s robust and growing academic prowess.

Looking toward the future, ISU remains dedicated to its core mission of cultivating talent characterized by professional excellence, innovative capacity, and social responsibility. The university continues to proactively address the demands of national industrial development and technological progress, consistently providing visionary momentum for society. Choosing ISU means connecting with the world and marching toward the future.
